Fees
The fee for a 50-minute service is $200 for individual, couple and family sessions unless we have agreed upon a reduced fee. I am unable to alter my rates for first-time or infrequent sessions (sessions that occur less than weekly.)
I care a great deal about transparency so I want to share specifics about my fees. The rate reflects my experience, market rates for my current credentials, and the cost of ongoing educational programs that allow me to provide the best possible care for all my clients.
The rate also affords me the opportunity to reserve a portion of my practice for reduced fee services for those who face unemployment and underemployment, disability, systematic oppression, and discrimination.
FAQ
Do you offer teletherapy?
Yes. Sessions are conducted online with a HIPPA compliant platform, Simple Practice. During our initial consultation, clear instructions are provided about how to get started on the online platform.
How do I get started?
Visit the “Schedule a Consultation” tab of this website and email, call, text, or fill out the online form to book a consultation with me to see if we are a good fit. After our initial 15-minute consultation, I will send you intake paperwork so I can become better acquainted with your personal history and therapeutic goals.
In our first session together, we will get to know each other better and I will ask more questions to deepen my understanding of your needs for therapy. We will meet for 50 minutes each week. I will also ask you to notice happenings, patterns, and behavior outside of our time together.
Do you accept insurance?
Though I do not accept insurance, I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. You are responsible for contacting your insurance provider before starting therapy in order to verify your coverage.
What is your approach?
My work is grounded in narrative therapy, a stance that views people as experts in their own lives. Narrative therapy assumes you are not the problem. Instead, we examine your relationship with external problems, keeping in mind the social, familial, and cultural contexts that have a role in how we all relate to the world.
Feminist, LGBT-affirmative, and social justice lenses also greatly influence the way I think about my work.
