My Approach
My work is grounded in narrative therapy, a stance that views people as experts in their own lives. Narrative therapy assumes you are not the problem. Instead, we examine your relationship with external problems, keeping in mind the social, familial, and cultural contexts that have a role in how we all relate to the world.
I also utilize relational and somatic interventions to investigate feelings and sensations that show up in our time together. I use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) tools, mindfulness techniques, and provide psychoeducation on attachment-based and trauma-informed theories depending on your individual needs.
Feminist, LGBTQ-affirmative, and social justice lenses also greatly influence the way I think about my work.
